Defies descriptionJun 22, 2010
By linepainter This is not like any traditional English pudding. In fact, it is unlike anything I've ever attempted to put in my mouth. It is pumpkin in color, springy in texture, with globs of stretchy substance which I suppose is the treacle. I am at a loss to describe the flavor - a sweetness lingers in the background, but what the prevalent taste is I don't know. It's not buttery, salty, caramelized...it's 'misc.' flavor. My husband and I each took a bite or two, had a good laugh, and tossed the rest. We're not fussy food snobs, nor are we unsophisticated eaters. My husband's best contribution to my attempt at analysis was "if someone told me that was monkey brains, I'd seriously believe them."

Very interesting flavorApr 14, 2008
By P. Smith When this canned dessert arrived I could hardly wait to open it and try it out but I waited till my son was over and we enjoyed it together! I tasted it cold (got on my fingers while pushing it from the can) and found it very tasty and reminded me of pumpkin. It is supposed to be heated and was very easily done in my microwave. We both liked it heated but I still like it better cold. If you like something sweet, you have to give this a try!

Horrible treacle puddingFeb 12, 2009
By B. Weaves I remember real treacle pudding from when I was little and lived in England. This canned version is terrible. It's nothing like the real thing. Don't waste your money.
Needs a lined can...Aug 23, 2011
By W. Wilson Not bad for a canned dessert. I used some whipped cream because it was a little dry.
I was surprised upon opening this that the inside of the can isn't lined. I think some can flavor may have leached into the taste, affecting the flavor (or is that "flavour"?)

By mnl Like any other food, not every treacle pudding will taste exactly the same. Personally, I like this better than a number of restaurants' treacle pudding. And what do you expect from buying canned food? For what it is (cake in a can), this stuff is great.
